Why should I join AAUW?
To make a difference. AAUW is an organization that advances equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.
How does AAUW spend the money it raises?
The state of Wisconsin supports NCCWSL (National Conference for College Women Student Leaders) sending Wisconsin college women leaders to the annual convention. In addition, branches have funded numerous scholarships for college women in a variety of programs in accredited technical schools and colleges across the state.
Who can join AAUW?
Membership is open to anyone (yes, men can join) with an associate or higher degree from an accredited college or university.
How much are annual dues?
National dues are $72 ($69 tax-deductible) for Members and FREE for Student Affiliates of an AAUW College/University Member. Wisconsin state dues are $13.00 for Members of a Branch and $6.50 for Student Affiliates. Local dues are determined by each branch.

How large is AAUW-Wisconsin?
AAUW-Wisconsin has nearly 1,500 members in 22 branches scattered across the state. Nationwide, there are more than 100,000 members making the AAUW an influential voice for women and girls
As a member, how do I know what is going on in AAUW – Wisconsin and my branch?
AAUW-Wisconsin maintains an active website (https://aauw-wi.aauw.net/) and Facebook page. It also sends out quarterly Badger Briefs e-newsletters as well as irregular Lil’ Badger eblasts which share late-breaking news. Most branches maintain websites and Facebook pages and share newsletters with branch news. Branches typically have monthly meetings and hold various special events. AAUW-Wisconsin also holds an annual convention hosted in different cities around the state.
