This issue of Badger Briefs is our Annual Meeting Issue — in a nutshell, all the items that we normally vote on at our annual meeting will be voted on, once this issue of the BB is out to all of you. You will receive correspondence on how to vote for the officers listed in this publication, as well as the minutes from last year’s annual meeting.
Thank you for your kind understanding and assistance in trying to uphold our bylaws, and keeping us on track for fiscal year 2020-21!
2020 State & Regional Conventions Cancelled
It is with a sad and heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of our 100th annual state convention, as well as the AAUW Regional Convention that was scheduled to take place in June 2020. Due to the spread of the Coronavirus/COVID-19, the CDC and our governor have both called for the cancellation of large gatherings, and we wish to respect this public health recommendation, for the safety of our members.
Thank you to the ladies on the State Convention Planning Committee for all of your efforts. We appreciate the work that you did to plan what surely would have been an outstanding convention.
There is a chance that these events may yet be rescheduled. Our President, Lyn Hildenbrand, will keep members posted of any updates. In the meantime, be safe!

The Convention Issue of Badger Briefs is here! This year, we celebrate 100 years of women’s suffrage and our 100th state convention. Information on the 2020 state convention, including registration form, hotel reservations, and schedule, can be found in this issue.
Reminder: the deadline for room reservations and early registration fees for the AAUW-Wisconsin 2020 Convention is March 31, so don’t delay!
Branches Can Now Create e-Posters for State Convention
At this year’s State Convention, branches will now have the option to use an e-poster (i.e. PowerPoint) to share photos of their programming, membership and outreach activities. Branches may still opt to bring physical displays to the convention, or they may email a PowerPoint highlighting their branch and its activities to Suzanne Hagen, President of AAUW-River Falls, by April 10.
Suzanne prepared a sample River Falls Branch PowerPoint, for reference. Note: branches should keep their PowerPoints smaller than 2MB – about 6 slides – to ensure that they are not too large of a file to email.
